Infosys, India’s second-largest IT services company, has mandated that employees work from the office for at least 10 days each month, starting March 10, 2025. To enforce this policy, the company has introduced a mobile application-based attendance system that limits the number of work-from-home (WFH) days employees can request.
The policy primarily targets employees at Job Level 5 (JL5) and below—including team leaders, software engineers, senior engineers, system engineers, and consultants. It also affects those at Job Level 6 (JL6) and above, such as managers and senior managers, though vice presidents and higher ranks are excluded.
This move aligns with industry trends, as other major IT firms like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) have implemented similar return-to-office mandates. TCS requires five-day office attendance, linking it to employees’ variable pay.
Infosys had previously introduced “In-Person Collaboration” weeks, designating key weeks each quarter for mandatory in-office work to enhance team collaboration.
